Flexible Meal Planning Based on Remaining Macros
I’d love more flexibility in the Meal Planning feature so the generated meals can be based on the calories/macros I actually want allocated to meals, rather than automatically using nearly my entire daily target.
For example, my daily target is currently 1,600 calories, and the planner generated three meals totaling 1,578 calories. However, I already know that I typically use 200–300 calories each day for things like coffee and a protein shake, so I don’t actually want the planner to use all 1,600 calories for meals.
It would be great if we could:
- Set the calories/macros available for meal planning. For example, I could tell the planner I have 1,350 calories available for meals, and it would generate options within that amount.
- Choose how many meals we need planned — 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. Some days I may want three regular meals; other days I may only need dinner planned or prefer several smaller meals.
- Plan based on remaining macros. If I’ve already logged food for the day, it would be amazing to have a “Plan My Remaining Meals” option that uses my remaining calories, protein, carbs and fat and lets me select how many meals I still need.
- Keep swapped meals within a similar macro range so using the current meal-swap feature doesn’t significantly change the overall plan.
Essentially, instead of the meal planner always trying to fill my entire daily target, I’d love to be able to say: “These are the calories/macros I have left, and I need X number of meals — build my meal options around that.”
I think that would make an already helpful feature much more practical for day-to-day use.
